Measure Details

Specifications from CMS: Objective 9

Numerator: The number of patients to whom the provider sent a secure message using patient portal (patients must have been seen during the EHR reporting period).

Denominator: Number of unique patients seen by the provider during the EHR reporting period.

How to Meet This Measure in Elation

Once the patient has registered for Elation Patient Passport (Instructions on inviting patients to Patient Passport), the practice can send a secure message to the patient by clicking on Letter --> To Patient:

Each time the practice sends a secure message to a patient using Patient Passport, the patient letters will be contributing towards the numerator for this objective. Please note that the messages only count if they are sent to patients that were seen during the reporting period.
