1. Measure Details
Report on the percentage of patients aged 6 months and older seen for a visit between October 1 and March 31 who received an influenza immunization OR who reported previous receipt of an influenza immunization

2. Measure Parameters:
Numerator: Patients who received an influenza immunization OR who reported previous receipt of an influenza immunization

Denominator: All patients aged 6 months and older seen for at least two visits or at least one preventive visit during the measurement period who were also seen for a visit between October 1 and March 31 (Flu Season)

Exclusions/Exceptions: Document of a medical, patient, or system reason for not administering a vaccination (e.g. patient declined, patient is allergic to vaccination, or vaccine not available).

3. Elation Workflows
1/ Ensure that an Influenza Vaccination for the patient is recorded and dated. This can be done at the point of care by adding a detailed immunization.


2/ This can also be achieved through the vaccination table, by entering the appropriate dates.


4. Measure Information
Annual influenza vaccination is the most effective method for preventing influenza virus infection and its complications. Influenza vaccine is recommended for all persons aged >=6 months who do not have contraindications to vaccination.

Make sure to use the "+Add Vaccination, detailed" button in the Patient’s Clinical Profile and search by the CVX code to add one of the following vaccines that will count towards this CQM:
  • CVX 88: influenza, unspecified formulation
  • CVX 111: influenza virus vaccine, live, attenuated, for intranasal use
  • CVX 135: influenza, high dose seasonal, preservative-free
  • CVX 140: Influenza, seasonal, injectable, preservative free
  • CVX 141: Influenza, seasonal, injectable
  • CVX 144: seasonal influenza, intradermal, preservative free
  • CVX 149: influenza, live, intranasal, quadrivalent
  • CVX 150: Influenza, injectable, quadrivalent, preservative free
  • CVX 153: Influenza, injectable, MDCK, preservative free
  • CVX 155: influenza, recombinant, injectable, preservative free
  • CVX 158: influenza, injectable, quadrivalent
  • CVX 161: Influenza, injectable,quadrivalent, preservative free, pediatric
  • CVX 166: influenza, intradermal, quadrivalent, preservative free
