[Objective 3] Computerized Provider Order Entry

Goal

Requirements: 
  • Measure 1: More than 60% of medication orders created by the provider during the EHR reporting period are recorded using computerized provider order entry.
  • Measure 2: More than 30% of laboratory orders created by the provider during the EHR reporting period are recorded using computerized provider order entry. 
  • Measure 3: More than 30% of radiology orders created by the provider during the EHR reporting period are recorded using computerized provider order entry

Exclusions: 
  • Measure 1: Any provider who writes fewer than 100 medication orders during the EHR reporting period.
  • Measure 2: Any provider who writes fewer than 100 laboratory orders during the EHR reporting period.
  • Measure 3: Any provider who writes fewer than 100 radiology orders during the EHR reporting period.

Measure 1: 

  • Numerator: Number of medication orders in the denominator entered using computerized provider order entry.
  • ​Denominator: Number of medication orders created by the provider during the reporting period.

Measure 2:

  • Numerator: Number of laboratory orders in the denominator entered using computerized provider order entry.
  • ​Denominator: Number of laboratory orders created by the provider during the reporting period.

Measure 3:

  • Numerator: Number of radiology orders in the denominator entered using computerized provider order entry.
  • ​Denominator: Number of radiology orders created by the provider during the reporting period.


How to Meet This Measure in Elation

Measure 1: Medications

Elation counts all ePrescriptions, electronic refill responses and printed medication orders performed in Elation as  computerized provider order entry in both the numerator and the denominator. 

Any time you use the Elation “Prescription Form”, “OTC Form”, “Controlled Substance Form”, “Samples Form”, you will comply with this measure.



Measure 2: Laboratory Orders

Elation counts all Laboratory Orders created in both the numerator and the denominator. Every time you complete a lab order form on Elation, it will count towards this measure. 


Measure 3: Radiology Orders

Elation counts all Imaging Orders performed in Elation in both the numerator and denominator. Every time you complete an Imaging Order form on Elation, it will count towards this measure.
