Hawaii Public Health Registries (MU Objective 10)

Last Updated: Jun 20, 2017 05:28PM PDT

Goal

Meaningful Use measure, Objective 10, requires Eligible Professionals (EPs) to enroll and engage in two public health registries in their state. The three registry options are: immunization registry, syndromic surveillance, and specialized registry.

For 2016 only, providers can claim an alternate exclusion for syndromic surveillance and specialized registry to meet the second registry requirement this year. Therefore, providers are only required to engage with their state’s immunization registry (exclusion from immunization registry counts).

Hawaii's registry options are listed below.  After enrolling, if the registry reaches out to start the onboarding process, you must respond within 30 days. Please be sure to also forward the request to Elation at support@elationemr.com.

1. Hawaii Immunization Registry - HIR

To register for HIR, Please complete the attached HIR MU form. The form may be faxed to 808-586-8312 or e-mailed to registryhelp@doh.hawaii.gov
Note: HIR is requiring all providers to re-register every year. This means providers who registered for HIR in previous year will need to re-register every year.

Exclusion: EPs who do not administer vaccines are excluded from this measure.

2. Syndromic Surveillance (Not supported by Hawaii)

Hawaii does not support Syndromic Surveillance, so this registry option is not available to Hawaii practices.

Exclusion:
EPs who do not have a syndromic surveillance option are excluded from this measure.

3. Specialized Registries - Cancer Registry
