SAFER Guides consist of nine guides organized into three broad groups. These guides enable healthcare organizations to address EHR safety in a variety of areas. This required attestation measure is an attestation of completing the High Priority Practices Guide.

Safety Assurance For EHR Resilience (SAFER) Guides are intended to provide a series of checklists for best practices on EHR use across an organization. If your practice has been interested in ensuring certain workflows for security, privacy, or other are being followed, this may be a good opportunity to utilize an existing best practice worksheet designed by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC).
There is no action to take inside of Elation for this measure. It is related to a practice's own policies and procedures around EHR use, similar to the Security Risk Assessment for the MIPS PI category.
The SAFER Guides Assessment measure for Promoting Interoperability is a required measure to attest “Yes” to, similar to the Security Risk Analysis requirement.. The requirement is to respond with a Yes/No attestation and a Yes will satisfy the measure, a No response will result in a score of 0 for the Promoting Interoperability category. The measure consists of completing the High Priority Practices SAFER Guide only.
