Elation recommends reviewing the Calendar Guide- Using the Calendar for appointments & events article to learn the basics about adding appointments to your calendar.
Contents
If you have multiple Practice Locations, you have the option to select which location that visit is for from the list of
Practice Locations you have created from your settings when scheduling a visit and adding a patient's appointment to the calendar. This will notify patients of specific location details for their appointments. This will assist with allocating providers to the correct practice location for appointments and making sure patients arrive at the correct practice location for their appointments.
Important Notes:
- If you only have one practice location then Elation will default to sharing that locations' details with patients who are receiving appointment reminders.
- If you have multiple practice locations and you do not specify one for an appointment, Elation will default to sharing your primary locations' details with patients who are receiving appointment reminders.
- Optionally, Premium EHR Users can turn on a feature to require practice location selection when scheduling appointments for patients. If you are a Premium EHR User and you would like Elation to turn this feature on for you, ask an Admin Level User in the practice use the "I need help" -> "Contact Elation Support" button to send a request to our Support Team and a member of the Support Team will turn this feature on for you.
Setting up Practice Locations in Settings
To use our multi-location scheduling, make sure you have set up your Practice Locations within the settings. If you need help setting up multiple locations for your practice, please reference this help center article on how to add additional practice locations.
Specifying location for an appointment
When creating a new appointment or editing an existing one, the appointment dialog will allow you to select a specified Location. If your practice has multiple locations, you can select which one this visit will occur at. If your practice only has a single location, it will default to that location.
For visits that are marked as ‘In person’, you will see the location details associated with the visit in the bottom right corner of the appointment and from within the appointment popover.
Important Note: For any visits that are scheduled as a virtual appointment, the location will not be displayed on the appointment in the calendar or within the appointment popover.
Appointment Reminder Example
If a patient is scheduled for an in-person visit with a specified location, that location's information will be included in the patient's appointment reminders. This will make it easier for your patients to know which address they need to go to for their appointment.
Important Note: For any visits that are scheduled as a virtual appointment, the location information will not be displayed on the patient's appointment reminder, and instead will continue to only show virtual visit details and instructions.
